6-pack will not be held responsible for any damages that may be caused by reading this report...so if you feel like puking...know that its just you and not the bad writing.

Headlines 3/07/2006
The Straight Times
6-packs go all the way!!!

The NOT SO STRAIGHT TIMES
6-PACKIAN Dedicates Victory to Former Teammate and Current Beau.

Bukit Panjang- There were immense scenes of jubilation on the street of Petir, as 6-pack emerged Victorious in the Lion Red Touch Carnival. The fans of 6-pack packed the street, drinking and dancing. These events unfolded after 6-pack "TANTALISED" the crowd with their smooth flowing touch rugby. "I've never seen so much talent in a team before!" exclaimed Ms Marley Casby, a die-hard 6-pack fan. "But i wonder where the number 11 is...i really like him!!!he's so smooth!!!hmmph!!"

It was only a few days ago when some members of 6-pack were involved in a match-fixing scandal after an investigation was called by Team Captain Leander about a bizzare training incident in which a 6packian somehow managed to let The Barracuda team score a Try. The case is now closed as the offending member of the team apologised and has been granted amnesty. Amazing how Victory can transform the lowest of life forms into the greatest of heroes...Lets hope the Italian World Cup team will be inspired...

After much last-minute consideration...the boys decided to take part in the Lion Red Touch Carnival as they believed that it was their time to win and Petir Road was going to be the venue for that...

The fellas had to play on a really narrow and small pitch with only 5 players. But all these conditions really suited them very well because they normally had that much in attendance during training...nabei..

It has really been agonisingly painful to watch 6-pack play in finals as they tend to screw it up at the very last hurdle. And somehow the script looked to be unchanged when FUNBUST(a team of National Players) scored the first try of the final...

Petir Road fell silent..as heads went down in the 6-pack fans area felt the all too familiar "failure in the final" feeling creeping up again. But being in a final against national players brought about a change in the wind..a renewed determination, a smell that signalled 6-pack's arrival..and yes it came in the form of Alan's...

6-pack responded immediately with Nazhan capping off a brilliant move. After that it was all 6-pack as the defence went on SHUT OUT mode, frustrating the opposition players every time they got the ball.

It seemed that this time, it was the opposition who played like 6-pack, angry, frustrated and out of breath. By half time, 4 tries to 1 down..and all they saw were blurred visions of blue and white flashing past...

It was a coldhearted 6-pack in the second half as they piled on the tries. No smiles, no pats on the back, no congratulations, just an urgency to restart the game to score more. Guys out there to punish and silence critics. To quote the Lion Red Officials "6-pack were absolutely Tantalising"....

A sense of joy overcame everyone after the final whistle was blown...and everyone wanted to take photos of 6-pack...

After the game a player who only wished to be known as XJ came up to us and said "This victory is for my baby...Loo if ur reading this..know that my heart is with u k?"-obviously still very much in love with his former teamate who was hospitalised the day before, after getting hit on by a very large white male. He is diagnosed to be suffering from a certain type of concussion called Kok-Inda-Mouthosis...

Six Pack Haka

The Haka is a common sight before rugby games involving Polynesian and Maori teams. Originating from traditional tribal dances it is used to summon strength and instil a sense of fear in opposing teams.

As part of a new team bonding strategy their resident ex pro dancer Sujan has created a purely Six Pack haka. This novel dance has taken into account the diversity in backgrounds seen within the team deriving aspects from a wide range of cultures.

“The majority of the Six Pack Haka is a merger of the ‘farmers jig,’ and the famous ‘Indonesian mating dance” explains Sujan.
“I deliberately used simple choreography that even white people can follow but added a little flare to cause confusion within the opposition”

The result is a compact dance that will make even the most experienced teams think twice about playing against Six Pack.

“All Six Pack members will be expected to learn the new haka before next weeks game. New players will be made to lead the dance from the front by performing the ‘bro’ role of the dance” explains Six Pack Captain Yohanes ‘look at it wiggle’ Leander.

Details of the dance can be downloaded from the link below and opened in powerpoint.

6-pack

A search on Google about "What is a Team"

"A team is a small number of people with complementary skills who are committed to a common purpose, performance goals, and approach for which they are mutually accountable." (Katzenbach and Smith, 1993)

A search on Google about "Definition of 6-pack" will return

"6-pack is a collective number of friends
who sacrifice for the greater good of the team,
who enjoy the company of his band of brothers,
does not boast or quit,
or make excuses when he fails.
He is a cheerful loser and a quiet winner.
He plays fair and as well as he can.
He enjoys the constant struggle of improving,

and values the game itself more highly than the result"
Help each other
Sacrifice for each other
Stick together, Struggle together,
Lose together and Win together
6-pack is not just a Team
It is our Team

Captains imposes New Diet for 6-pack

According to team nutritionists, some of the 6-pack players have been found to be rather pudgy and ill-conditioned for this year's NTL.

This pudginess somehow hinders the players speed only in defence as evident in the last game against RP.

Therefore Team Captain Leander has imposed a new strict diet for all 6-pack players. "I can't tell you what they are supposed to eat, but i can tell you that it will be nutritional and energy-giving."

Asked how he was going to enforce this new diet on the always hungry 6pack players, he said "I only care about the meals they have after training and games, as it helps with recovery. Therefore these pudgy boys will definitely have dinner with the team after training, i'll monitor them"
6-pack player being burnt here...damn!

Round 1: NTL gets into Full Swing as half-pace 6-PACK runs riot over Repulic Polytechnic

12th Aug, 1.00pm, Turf City

Round 1 Match:

Score : 15-3

Playa of the Day: Yum Hwa

Dick of the Day: David (for the blunders)

15 to 3 tries, a scoreline that actually flattered the game play. It was not the best of performance by 6-pack especially in the first half.
A lacklustre sixpack who had half the team down late for warm-ups, provided little to cheer in the first half as the defence were caught sleeping twice as Co-Captain Alan Lowton got stepped and burnt by the speedy number 5 from RP. When asked what he thought of the try, he smirked and said "Yeah well, that guy is really fast." Right...age has nothing to do with it.
It must now be all smiles for Captain "Stallion" Leander as star player Lee Yum Hwa, lead the way with a commendable Man of the Match performance. Lee kept on providing the creative spark that led to the many tries scored by 6-pack. Lee said after the game "I was offered a new contract..and i'm very happy to dedicate my future to 6-pack."

The other good thing in this game was that the new signings fared really well. Nazhan, Taufik, Edmund, Gideon and Jitwei all showed composure in their first competitive league game for 6pack.

We hope that 6-pack will keep improving from this match and we wish them good luck for their next game against Wanderers.

In other News, David Teo was named the Dick of the Day.

6-pack... ...coming right at you

6-pack Stars visit Home for the Unfortunate Children

When you would be expecting teams to be resting in wait to begin their onslaught for the title race tmr. Some of the busy 6-pack stars unexpectedly took time off to visit the MOIUC Home to do their part for charity. The Sixpackian News Network(SNN) managed to catch 2 of them for a short interview.

SNN: Hi guys, pleasure to see you again.

Adam: oh Hi... nice to see you too....

SNN: What are you guys doing here at this Children's Home? Season starts tmr right?

Alan: Yeah it starts tmr...but we've decided to help some of the volunteers here to put a smile on the faces of the kids here.

SNN: Well done guys.... i think that you're probably the only touch team in Singapore to go out of their way, just to help out. Aren't you guys worried about fatigue setting in for tmr's game?

Adam: Hey cmmon what can be more important then seeing that girl over there smile? Besides touch is only a game. Anyway we've promised the kids that we'll win tmr... god! they are so fun to be around with....

SNN: That's great to hear...its quite evident that the kids here love you guys. Especially after you giving them the Touch Balls....Hmmm are you trying to groom them into little Leanders and little Sujans?

Alan: Oh yeah why not? We're going to need kids to be in our under 12 youth team. I don't see why these kids can't be great players one day...

SNN: Yeah you make a strong case. Ok Thanks guys... its always a pleasure talking to you.

Adam: No problem. We'll see you tmr..when we kick ass.

At this point Alan and faced the kids...

Alan: Kids, what do we tell the nice reporter?

Kids: Wanderers are evil!!!!!!!

Alan: no no kids...the other thing...

Kids: Bye!!!!We love 6-pack!!!!

Alan seen here trying his best to amuse the kids.
Their Faces speak a thousand words.
Well done Mate!

We wish the 6-packians all the best as they embark tmr on a journey to victory.

If Chelsea can buy all the good players and win. I don't see why 6pack can't do the same.

Kids all over the world will be cheering you on...Good Luck SixPack!!!

Ticker or Die

Dear Lord, we seek from you a victory against the French, a successful liposuction for Ronaldo, and hot sex back at the hotel. Amen!

1 man makes a player.
6 men make a line-up.
14 men make a squad.
Ticker maketh them a Team.

What is Ticker? I'll let Alan Hutchinson, a rugby coach in N. Ireland, explain it himself.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the quality known as "ticker" or "heart" or "team spirit" is the single most important factor in rugby success. It is upon ticker that every other factor is founded whether it is fitness, ball skills, tackling, cover, support, or opportunistic attack.
Teams can win a game without ticker and can lose one even if they have it but if they do have it David can conquer Goliath every time and they may lose but they're never beaten.

- Alan Hutchinson

Interview with Yohanes "Stallion" Leander

The 6-packian Times: You guys have been making buys that have left many puzzled.

Stallion: Oh? are you talking about gideon? I really feel he'll make a difference to the team. He's a quite a clever player u know.

The 6-packian Times: But given his off-field disciplinary record, do you think its wise to have "Laundry Bandit"Gid in your team?

Stallion: Common... everyone has their faults.. we have to give them a second chance... he might be the difference this season.

The 6-packian Times: ok.... Moving on...there have been rumours and complaints that you have been illegally poaching some young Republic Poly Players. You sure do like em young, don't you?

Stallion: errr... no comment...

The 6-packian Times: Aww..common...

Stallion: Okok i do like young boys.... to be in the team...Mixing the youth with experience u know... But i have definitely NOT made any illegal advances to the RP team. Its just that i think we have to set up a youth academy.. so that these players can move up to the senior team soon... especially if we lose some players to contact

The 6-packian Times: oh yeah... so whats this annoucement made by the T.W.C.S.A Team in their website that they have accquired the services of a certain Lee Yum Hwa?

Stallion : Thats completly rubbish!! I'll go all jihad on anyone from that team who said that. Lee Yum Hwa will stay where he belongs. And that is with me... Just the other day, Wanderers came in with a measly $2 bucks plus a player exchange for him...You know how bloody hard it was to train him after he graduated from Chao Yang? at least $5 la...show some respect

6-packian Times: Aye Jangan Tension brudder! Oh so who were they offering....?Weren't you not interested at all?

Stallion: Wei Wei... okok i would have taken the deal... if not for the fact that we are playing in the MEN's league, also we kinda need the extra vehicle to transport the guys to our clubhouse after the game. Unless Wanderers is offering us a free Mazda and homemade pizza and pasta everyweek, will i ever think of selling him.

To be continued next week with Part II, as we delve into the personal life of much soughted star player Lee and ask him about his how he feels about all the speculation of his future...
