Six Pack vs Bro-Town

2.30pm, Turf City

Round 2 Match Objective:
Game Plan & Attacking moves (ACCOMPLISHED for 10 mins)
Score : 5-6
Playa of the Day: Hadi
Dick of the Day: Amila
Play of the Day: 6PPB's cohesiveness in time of adversity

Enticed by the prospect of a titanic clash against Bro-Town, an impressive 6PPB squad flocked to Turf City. Alas, Dick of the day was won instantaneously early in the day by Amila, leaving his jersey behind with the launderer.

Anticipating a close game, the walking wounded from our sister squad remained to offer their much appreciated support. The Supporter of the Day's voice is pretty much heard throughout the match To maintain our self proclaimed status as, “the ridiculously good looking rugby team” Dennis directed the warm up with some classic moves fresh from Zoolander.

Unfortunately the opening exchanges set the precedent for most of the match as Bro-Town adopted tactics straight from the John McEnroe School of sportsmanship. With verbal exchanges the most overpaid Italian footballer would be proud of, Bro-Town attempted to moan their way over the try line. Fortunately a steadfast Marli was rock solid in her decisions.

This match was a tale of two 10mins halves. In the first 10 mins of 2 halves, the 6PPB went out firing at all cylinders. Rock Solid in Defence and ever threatening with their well-worked game plan.

Unphased it was, 6PPB went 2-0 up; a well worked move allowing Dennis to dive in at the corner and a perfectly timed Khairul steal & pass left Leander to gallop the length of the pitch for a try. However Bro-Town successfully regrouped. Utilising their experience finally instead of their mouths they displayed an impressive array of 5m moves scoring 4 well worked tries in the last 10 mins, ending the first half 4-3 up.

The second half saw a change of refs and tightening up of defenses.

There was also evidence that this blog maybe being studied by the opposition as last weeks playa of the day seemed to be a marked man and singled out for some pathetic manhandling.

6PPB's unorthodox attacking moves in the last 10 mins…….

6PPB managed to claw their way back to within a try of Bro-Town twice. Thanks to tries from Yum and Hadi (whose incisive running and matured play earned him the man of the match),

Unfortunately, 6PPB were ultimately unable to recover from the one try deficit in the first half. The final whistle saw the abusive Bro-Town took the match 6-5. It was a shame that 6PPB had to go down marginally. Down but not out, 6PPB will have to match their potential if they’re ever going to get the better of other teams & the championship.
